Amit Shah chairs high-level security review on J&K, reiterates zero tolerance against terrorism





Srinagar, Jan 08 (KINS): Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah on Thursday chaired a high-level security review meeting on Jammu and Kashmir in the national capital, underscoring the Centre’s firm resolve to ensure lasting peace and completely eradicate terrorism from the Union Territory.
The meeting was attended by Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Union Home Secretary, Director of the Intelligence Bureau, Chief Secretary and Director General of Police of J&K, along with heads of Central Armed Police Forces and other senior officials.
Amit Shah said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Government of India remains fully committed to establishing durable peace in Jammu and Kashmir. Reaffirming the government’s zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism, he stated that sustained and coordinated efforts over the past few years have significantly weakened and crippled the terror ecosystem in the region.
The Home Minister lauded the security forces for their dedicated efforts in improving the overall security situation in Jammu and Kashmir. He stressed that Counter Terror (CT) operations against terrorist networks, infrastructure and terror financing must continue in a focused mission mode.
Directing all security agencies to remain vigilant, Shah called for enhanced coordination and synergy to ensure that the security gains achieved after the abrogation of Article 370 are preserved. He emphasized the need to accelerate efforts towards the goal of a “terror-free Jammu and Kashmir” and assured full support and availability of resources from the Centre to achieve this objective.(KINS)
