Srinagar- Amit Shah on Thursday said counter-terror operations targeting terrorist infrastructure and terror financing must continue in a mission mode, asserting that all resources will be made available to achieve the goal of a terror-free Jammu and Kashmir at the earliest.
Chairing a high-level security review meeting in the Union Territory, the Union Home Minister directed all security agencies to remain alert and continue working in close coordination to ensure that the gains achieved after the abrogation of Article 370 are sustained.
He assured the agencies that the Centre would extend full support and provide all necessary resources for the ongoing counter-terrorism efforts.
The meeting was attended by Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, Director of the Intelligence Bureau Tapan Kumar Deka, besides the Chief Secretary and Director General of Police of the Union Territory.
Heads of Central Armed Police Forces and other senior officers were also present during the review meeting.
Appreciating the efforts of security agencies, Amit Shah said that sustained and coordinated action has significantly strengthened the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir. He emphasised that operations against terror infrastructure and funding networks must continue with the same intensity.
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Shah said, the government remains committed to ensuring lasting peace in the region and to completely eliminating terrorism.
Reiterating the government’s policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism, the Home Minister said that continuous and coordinated efforts by security agencies have crippled the terror ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir, according to an official statement.
He called upon all agencies to maintain synergy and vigilance to prevent any attempt at revival of terror activities in the Union Territory.
