Jammu, Jan 20 (KINS): The Jammu and Kashmir Government has directed all departments, public sector undertakings (PSUs), and educational institutions to celebrate National Voters’ Day on January 25, 2026, with the theme “My India, My Vote.”
According to instructions issued by the General Administration Department, a range of awareness activities will be organised to promote the importance of voting and democratic participation. These include debates, discussions, and competitions such as drawing, painting, essay writing, and cultural programmes in schools and colleges across the Union Territory.
The Election Commission of India has advised that National Voters’ Day programmes be held at 11 am or at any suitable time during the day. In areas where January 24 and 25 fall on holidays, the celebrations may be organised on January 23.
As part of the observance, officers and officials will administer the National Voters’ Day pledge. Photographs of the events will be shared on official social media platforms using the hashtag #NVD2026.
Meanwhile, the Administrative Secretaries, Divisional Commissioners, and Deputy Commissioners have been instructed to ensure strict compliance with the directions and to ensure meaningful and effective celebrations of National Voters’ Day across Jammu and Kashmir.(KINS)
