While acknowledging the genuine security challenges faced in Jammu & Kashmir, we ask an important democratic question: Can public safety and public convenience coexist?
Drawing on global practices, academic theories such as Power Distance, and examples from India and abroad, this report explores how VIP culture affects commuters, students, workers, patients, and emergency services. It also examines the financial and social costs of high-level security, the need for greater transparency, and whether democracy should place the convenience of a few above the rights of many.
