MP ranks first in generating Farmer ID

Govt launches Farmers Registry Initiative in MP

Bhopal, March 02 (HS): Under the AgriStack project of the Government of India, Farmer Registry has been started as an important initiative for farmers in Madhya Pradesh. In this, a unique Farmer ID is being created for each farmer. Madhya Pradesh ranks first in the country in generating Farmer ID under Farmer Registry. Gujarat is second, Maharashtra third, Andhra Pradesh fourth and Uttar Pradesh fifth. This information was given by Public Relations Officer Shivam Shukla late on Saturday evening. He told that there are a total of 95 lakh 18 thousand 752 beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Yojana in Madhya Pradesh. So far 56 lakh 85 thousand 337, a total of 59.73 percent farmers have registered themselves. So far 56 lakh 82 thousand 234 IDs have also been generated.

He told that a database of farmers is being prepared through Farmer Registry. With this, farmers will be able to get easy loans through computerized process. For other schemes, land, crop and farmers’ information can be verified through electronic process. There will be no need to submit physical documents in this.

In the Farmer Registry innovation, more than 57 lakh farmer IDs have been created in the state by organizing camps by the district collectors with the help of revenue staff and farmers. The state is receiving an amount of Rs 297 crore under the Special Central Assistance Scheme of the Government of India.
