VP Jagdeep Dhankhar Addressing the students of IIT, Hyderabad,(02/02/2025)

Delhi, 2 March (H.S.): Addressing the students of IIT, Hyderabad, VP Jagdeep Dhankhar said India is a land of rich languages. Even in parliament, simultaneous translation takes place in 22 languages, he said.

Let me refer to some changes that are worrisomely alarming, concerning.Our civilisational ethos tells us inclusivity. Should there be a confrontational stance on language in the land of Bharat, he said. What a moment of pride it was for everyone when languages were included in the classical language status recently, he said.

Our languages have global outreach. They are gold mine of literature, and the literary pieces have knowledge and wisdom. Vedas, Puranas, our epics, Ramayana, Mahabharata, Gita., he added.

He highlighted the importance of innovation in bringing about progress, sustainable development, and solving problems. He emphasized that an institution is defined by its 300 faculty members who provide quality education to future leaders.

The Vice President highlighted the achievements of the IITs, including the accessibility of technology and adaptability of rural communities. He also highlighted the importance of the Prime Minister’s initiative to provide access to banking systems for over 500 million people. He also highlighted the need for addressing nepotism and corruption in power corridors, which can be frustrating for young minds.

The Vice President emphasized the importance of the nation’s state, national movement, growth trajectory, and its ecosystem. The nation is currently in a top global group, leading in areas such as Quantum computing, Green Hydrogen mission, and commercialization of 6G. Artificial intelligence is bringing about paradigm shifts and introducing a new kind of industrial revolution with greater potential, challenges, and opportunities for boys and girls.

You are, and you try, Gen Z and Generation Next and those who are before me. You are the most vital stakeholders in democracy, in progress of this nation. Right now, if you have to see where we are heading, then we have to find the ecosystem., he quoted.

The Vice President also mentioned the challenges faced by the country in 1990, when gold had to be shipped out by air to Switzerland to fiscal credibility. He emphasized the need for a solution to the trade deficit with neighboring countries, which was reported to be 90 billion US dollars.

In conclusion, the Vice President emphasized the importance of innovation in bringing about progress, sustainable development, and solving problems in India. He urged the students and faculty to focus on innovation and the creation of a better future for the nation.
