DIGITAL DESK | Mumbai: The death case of former celebrity manager Disha Salian has come under renewed scrutiny following a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe ordered after her family sought a fresh investigation.
Salian’s father, Satish Salian, recently recorded his statement before the CBI, naming several individuals and raising questions about the circumstances surrounding his daughter’s death. His lawyer, Nilesh Ojha, has also made allegations concerning the events preceding her death. The allegations remain subject to investigation and have not been established as facts.
The CBI registered an FIR following directions from the Bombay High Court. Reports state that the FIR initially did not name anyone as an accused, with investigators expected to examine the allegations and determine whether criminal involvement can be established. The probe is also examining allegations concerning possible suppression or destruction of records and other aspects of the earlier investigation.
Aaditya Thackeray, whose name has surfaced in connection with the case, has denied knowing or meeting Disha Salian and has previously described the demand for a fresh probe as politically motivated.
The case has also led to legal action. Satish Salian has served a ₹500-crore defamation notice on Thackeray over statements concerning his campaign for a fresh investigation.
The CBI investigation is now expected to establish the facts surrounding Disha Salian’s death and determine whether the allegations raised by her family are supported by evidence.
