Srinagar- A 27-year-old man died after suffering an electric shock in the Bandi Chichian area of Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday evening, officials said.

An official said that the man was injured after suffering an electric shock at Bandi Chichian in Poonch, reported news agency KNO.

He was shifted to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Mandi for treatment, where doctors declared him brought dead. He was later identified as Dishad Ahmed (27), son of Abdul Rahim Tantray, a resident of Lari, Bandi, Sawjian.

Meanwhile, cognisance of the incident has been taken, while a probe is underway.
