Srinagar, Oct 21 (KNS): Health and Medical Education Minister Sakina Itoo on Wednesday thanked Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for approving the enhancement of monthly stipends for MBBS and BDS interns, including Foreign Medical Graduates, from Rs 12,300 to Rs 25,000.

Speaking to Kashmir News Service (KNS) over the phone from Singapore, Itoo expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for approving the proposal forwarded by her department.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

“I am grateful to the honourable Chief Minister for taking such a big initiative and approving the file forwarded by us,” she said.

Itoo said the government was committed to public welfare and ensuring a people-friendly administration.

The government issued the formal order on Wednesday, making the revised stipend effective from October 1, 2026. (KNS)
