Stock Market Updates: Sensex falls over 240 pts, Nifty below 22,051

New Delhi, March 04 (HS): Due to weak global signals, the domestic stock market is also under pressure during early trade today. Today’s trade started with a big fall. However, after the market opened, the movement of both the Sensex and Nifty indices seemed to improve with the support of buying, but after 10 am, due to the pressure of selling once again, the weakness of both the indices kept increasing. After the first 1 hour of trading, the Sensex was trading with a decline of 0.33 percent and Nifty with a decline of 0.31 percent.

After the first 1 hour of trading, among the big stocks of the stock market, the shares of State Bank of India, Bharat Electronics, Power Grid Corporation, Tata Motors and IndusInd Bank were trading with strength ranging from 3.01 percent to 1.29 percent. On the other hand, shares of Bajaj Auto, Nestle, Infosys, Titan Company and HCL Technology were seen trading with a decline of 2.73 percent to 1.60 percent.

So far, active trading was taking place in 2,487 shares in the stock market. Of these, 1,825 shares were trading in the green mark by making profits, while 662 shares were trading in the red mark by suffering losses. Similarly, out of the 30 stocks included in the Sensex, 12 stocks remained in the green mark with the support of buying. On the other hand, 18 stocks were trading in the red mark under the pressure of selling. While out of the 50 stocks included in the Nifty, 19 stocks were seen trading in the green mark and 31 stocks in the red mark.

The BSE Sensex opened today with a weakness of 268.60 points at 72,817.34 points. As soon as the market opened, due to the pressure of selling, this index fell to 72,633.54 points in a short time, but after this, due to the start of buying, the movement of this index started improving. With the support of continuous buying, by 10 am, this index jumped to 73,008.41 points. However, after this, due to the start of selling once again, the movement of this index declined. After the first 1 hour of trading amid continuous buying and selling in the market, at 10:15 am, the Sensex was trading 241.20 points down at the level of 72,844.74 points.

Like the Sensex, NSE’s Nifty started trading today with a weakness of 144.85 points at the level of 21,974.45 points. After the market opened, this index started recovery with the support of buying. With the support of buying, this index jumped to 22,091.05 points around 10 am, but after this, due to the pressure of selling, the movement of this index declined. After the initial 1 hour of trading amid continuous buying and selling in the market, at 10:15 am, Nifty was trading at 22,051.20 points with a decline of 68.10 points.

Earlier on the last trading day on Monday, the Sensex closed at 73,085.94 points with a weakness of 112.16 points i.e. 0.15 percent. At the same time, Nifty ended Monday’s trading at 22,119.30 points with a slight decline of 5.40 points i.e. 0.02 percent.
