Lucknow,
05 March (HS): Maharashtra Samajwadi
Party MLA Abu Azmi’s statement praising Mughal emperor Aurangzeb has also
created a stir in Uttar Pradesh politics. During the budget session in the
Legislative Council on Wednesday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath slammed the SP
over Abu Azmi’s statement. Yogi demanded the SP to immediately suspend its MLA
from the party and send him to Uttar Pradesh, and also warned that UP does not
delay in treating such people.
The
Chief Minister said in the House that SP is not proud of India’s cultural
heritage and has deviated from the principles of its original thinker Dr. Ram
Manohar Lohia. Dr. Lohia had described three bases of India’s unity – Shri Ram,
Shri Krishna and Lord Shiva, but today SP is considering a cruel ruler like
Aurangzeb as its ideal. Referring to the history of Aurangzeb, Yogi said that
he had imprisoned his father Shah Jahan in Agra Fort and made him yearn for
every drop of water. He advised the SP leaders to read Shah Jahan’s biography
in Patna’s library. He told that Shah Jahan had told Aurangzeb that a Hindu who
serves his elderly parents while alive and offers water to his parents once a
year while performing Shradh after their death is better than you. The CM said
that those whose conduct is like that of Aurangzeb can be proud of it.
Chief
Minister Yogi accused SP of attacking India’s faith and said that Aurangzeb
imposed Jaziya tax, destroyed temples and tried to Islamize India. No civilized
Muslim names his son Aurangzeb because he knows that he will make him yearn for
every drop of water. He questioned SP that on one hand it criticizes an event
like Maha Kumbh and on the other hand glorifies a ‘cruel and fanatic’ ruler
like Aurangzeb. The Chief Minister challenged SP to expel its MLA (Abu Azmi)
from the party and send him to UP, where he will be ‘treated’. He asked in the
House that does a person who feels ashamed of Chhatrapati Shivaji’s tradition
and considers Aurangzeb a hero have the right to live in India.
It
is noteworthy that this controversy started when Maharashtra SP MLA Abu Azmi
praised Aurangzeb calling him a ‘great administrator’. After this statement,
the Chief Minister has slammed the SP in the UP Legislative Council.
Maha
Kumbh changed the economy of UP, CM Yogi said- a confluence of heritage and
development: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while highlighting the economic
and cultural significance of the Maha Kumbh in the Legislative Council, said
that this event is not only a symbol of faith but has also taken the state’s
economy to new heights. He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mantra of
‘connecting heritage with development’ and said that pilgrimage sites like
Kashi, Ayodhya and Prayagraj attracted a record number of devotees this time,
leading to an unprecedented increase in the livelihood of the local people. CM
Yogi said that before 2019, the number of devotees in Kashi was limited, but
after the construction of Kashi Vishwanath Dham, Kashi took a new form. Kashi
was completely packed from January 13 to February 27-28. Five to 25 lakh
devotees arrived daily, took bath in Maa Ganga and were overwhelmed by the
splendor of Kashi. The hospitality and patience of the people of Kashi were
also appreciated. The same situation prevailed in Ayodhya, where five to 15
lakh devotees arrived every day. Yogi said that the citizens and saints of Ayodhya
welcomed the devotees without caring about their own facilities. During the
Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj on January 28-29, 2 lakh vehicles were stopped in
nearby districts, where local people made arrangements for food and water.
Giving
the example of a boatman family, the Chief Minister said that they had a fleet
of 130 boats, from which they earned Rs 30 crore from 13 January to 26
February. CM Yogi said that every section earned good income in Maha Kumbh.
This will contribute more than Rs 3.5 lakh crore to the economy of UP. Calling
it the result of the Prime Minister’s vision, he said that UP is the soul of
the country and the whole world has seen the great miracle of Maha Kumbh.
