Guwahati, 05 March (HS): In a series of operations, Guwahati Police seized heroin, stolen bikes, and illegal liquor while arresting several suspects.

Drugs and Stolen Mobile Seized from Fancy Bazar

Panbazar Police conducted an operation near 4 No. Railway Gate, Fancy Bazar, and apprehended two individuals—Abdul Haque (66) and Safiqul Islam (24). The 08 plastic vials filled with suspected heroin (weighing 10.66 grams), 140 empty plastic vials used for drug storage, One Redmi mobile phone (suspected stolen), One e-rickshaw charging machine and Silver ornaments (4 anklets, 2 chains, 1 ring) have been recovered.

Stolen Bikes Recovered from Meghalaya, Three Arrested

Dispur Police, with the help of Meghalaya Police, recovered four stolen bikes from Lapalang Basti under Pynursla PS in East Khasi Hills, near the Indo-Bangladesh border. The recovered bikes includes AS 01GB-8598 (Royal Enfield Gorilla 450), AS15R-4823 (Bajaj Pulsar), AS01ET-9167 (Bajaj Pulsar) and AS12AH-1648.

Three bike lifters—Rofiqul Ali (Koyachui, Barpeta), Saiful Ali (Pachim Majdia, Sarthebari PS, Barpeta), and Saddam Kham (Nijbahari, Tarabari PS, Barpeta)—were arrested from the Gorchuk area.

In another operation a huge Cache of Illegal Liquor Seized in Sonapur. Sonapur Police conducted a raid at the residence of Basindra Barman in Kalangpar village and seized a large quantity of illegally stored Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL).

Seized goods include Kingfisher Beer (650ML) – 37 cartons, Kingfisher Can Beer (500ML) – 4 cartons, McDowell Whiskey (180ML) – 5 cartons, Imperial Black Whiskey (180ML) – 3 cartons and Iconic White Whiskey (180ML) – 8 cartons.

These successful operations mark a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, vehicle theft, and illegal liquor trade in Guwahati.
