Odisha schools to celebrate 'Pravesh Utsav' and 'Khadi Chhuan' on April 2

Bhubaneswar, 6 March (H.S.) With the commencement of the academic year 2025-26 set for April 1, the Odisha state government has announced the organization of a state-wide campaign, Pravesh Utsav and Khadi Chhuan, in all schools on April 2, 2025. This initiative will involve the active participation of parents, elected representatives, senior officials, and civil society members.

Additionally, school-level programs will be conducted from April 3 to April 5, 2025, focusing exclusively on teachers and students.

As per a notification issued by Shalini Pandit, Commissioner-cum-Secretary of the School and Mass Education Department, to all District Collectors and Magistrates, the event aims to create awareness and engage the community in the educational journey of students. The academic year 2025-26 will begin on April 1, 2025, and a massive state-wide campaign on ‘Pravesh Utsav’ and ‘Khadi Chhuan’ will be celebrated on April 2, 2025, with participation from parents, elected representatives, senior officials, and civil society members. The school-level program will run from April 3 to 5, 2025, with teachers and students exclusively involved, the notification stated.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will kick off the campaign by distributing the ‘Nimantrana Patra’ (invitation cards) from March 17 to March 19 to the families of children enrolling in ‘Shishu Vatika’ and Class I.
