
Agartala, 08 March (HS): Vigilant jawans of the Border Security Force (BSF) took a major action on the India-Bangladesh border in Tripura and seized 11,400 Yaba tablets on Saturday. These banned narcotic pills were recovered from Srimantapur, Sonamura (District Sipahijala) area of West Tripura, which were planned to be smuggled into Bangladesh.
According to BSF officials, the estimated cost of the seized Yaba tablets is ₹1.14 crore. The security forces had received secret information, on the basis of which this action was taken. This operation has dealt a severe blow to drug smuggling across the border.
The BSF has handed over the recovered pills to the concerned agencies for further legal action. The BSF is constantly keeping a close watch on the India-Bangladesh border in Tripura to prevent any illegal activity.
