New Delhi, March 13 (H.S.): The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has achieved another major milestone. ISRO has successfully completed the undocking in the SpaDeX mission. On Thursday, ISRO shared photographs on X, providing this information.
After the launch of the mission, ISRO made history by connecting two different satellites in space. These two interconnected satellites have successfully been separated again today. There will be more such experiments of connecting and separating two different satellites in space. Today’s success is a significant step towards future deep space missions and establishing a domestic space station.
Union Minister Jitendra Singh congratulated the ISRO team on this achievement. He stated that it is a matter of joy for every Indian. The SpaDeX satellites accomplished an incredible de-docking. This has paved the way for the smooth operation of future ambitious missions, including the Indian Space Station, Chandrayaan 4, and Gaganyaan. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s continuous support keeps boosting enthusiasm.
The primary objective of the Spadex mission is to develop and demonstrate the technology necessary for the rendezvous, docking, and undocking of two small spacecraft (SDX01, named Chaser, and SDX02, named Target) in low Earth orbit. Secondary objectives include demonstrating the transfer of electrical power between the docked spacecraft, which is essential for future applications such as space robotics.
