
Guwahati, 14 March (HS): Assam government minister Pijush Hazarika has announced that Bhutan Police personnel will be trained at Lachit Barphukan Police Academy. This decision will further strengthen Assam’s leading role in security and law enforcement training.
The minister described it as a matter of pride and said that recently new recruits of Manipur Police were trained here. After this, Goa Police is also getting training at this academy. And, now Bhutan Police will also get training here.
Hazarika described this academy as one of the best police training institutes in the country, which is setting high standards of law enforcement training.
Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will start his Assam tour from Jorhat on Friday. During this, Shah will inaugurate the newly upgraded Lachit Barphukan Police Academy, which will further strengthen the law and order of the state.
Besides, Shah will review the implementation of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) with the chief ministers of northeastern states in Guwahati on March 16. His tour also includes a visit to Mizoram on March 15 and attending the 57th annual conference of the All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) in Kokrajhar on March 16.
With this training programme of Bhutan Police, Assam is emerging as a major hub of police training, strengthening the security system of not only Indian states but also neighbouring countries.
