
Port Louis, March 12 (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the people of Mauritius on their National Day during his two-day visit to the country. He met former Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth and opposition leader Georges Pierre Lesjongard. In a community event in Port Louis, Modi characterized Mauritius as a vital bridge among the Global South and emphasized India’s strong familial ties with the nation. He promised complete support for development projects, including a new Parliament building.
Modi expressed his best wishes for Mauritius on ‘X’, anticipating participation in the National Day celebrations.
His visit included the presence of Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar and NSA Ajit Doval, and he shared images of his discussions with the local leaders online.
