Punjab Police arrest three associates of an ISI terrorist

Chandigarh, March 15 (H.S.): The Special Operations Cell of the Punjab Police in Mohali has arrested three individuals linked to the network of the ISI terrorist Harvinder Singh Rinda, who is based in Pakistan. Among them, two are from Maharashtra and one is from Roopnagar in Punjab. The police have recovered a pump-action gun and a pistol from their possession.

Punjab Police Chief Gaurav Yadav said today that based on intelligence information, the State Special Operations Cell in Mohali has dismantled a major module connected to the Pakistan-based BKI terrorist Harvinder Singh alias Rinda. The arrested suspects have been identified as Jagjit Singh alias Jaggi, a resident of Nanded, Maharashtra, Shubham Khelbude, also from Nanded, and Gurdeep Singh alias Deepa, a resident of Raipur, Nurpur Bedi (Roopnagar).

Yadav stated that Jagjit alias Jaggi played a crucial role in providing rations, safe shelter, and coordination for the shooters involved in a murder that took place in Nanded on February 10, the conspiracy for which was hatched by Rinda from across the border. During the police investigation, the involvement of jailed gangster Dilpreet alias Baba, a longtime associate of Rinda who arranged safe havens for the accused in Punjab, was also uncovered. The police recovered a .32 bore pistol, 8 live cartridges, a 12 bore pump-action gun, and 15 live cartridges from the accused’s possession.
