Delhi, 16 March (H.S.): The 14th ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting-Plus (ADMM-Plus) Experts Working Group (EWG) on Counter-Terrorism will take place in New Delhi from March 19 to 20, 2025, co-chaired by India and Malaysia.

Delegations from 10 ASEAN members, eight dialogue partners (including Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Japan, China, USA, and Russia), Timor Leste, and the ASEAN Secretariat will attend. This marks India’s first time co-chairing the EWG.

The opening ceremony will feature a keynote address by Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh. This meeting is the inaugural session for the 2024-2027 cycle, focusing on developing a comprehensive strategy against the evolving threats of terrorism and extremism. It aims to facilitate the exchange of experiences among Defence Forces of ASEAN and its partners, laying groundwork for future activities such as exercises and workshops.

The ADMM-Plus serves as a cooperative platform for defence establishments across various areas, notably including Counter-Terrorism, Maritime Security, and Cyber Security. EWGs are co-chaired by an ASEAN member and a dialogue partner and conduct regular meetings to establish objectives and direct practical cooperation throughout their three-year terms.
