Dr Mansukh Mandaviya Leads Fit India Sundays on Cycle Event in Ahmedabad

Guinness World Record Holder Rohtash Chaudhary Joins from Delhi

Delhi, 16 March (H.S.): The Fit India Sundays on Cycle event witnessed immense participation nationwide, spearheaded by Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, at Ahmedabad’s Sabarmati Riverfront. Organized by SAI Gandhinagar, the event attracted about 650 cyclists, including members of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Gujarat and MPs. Paralympian Bhavana Choudhary flagged off the event.

Dr. Mandaviya expressed his excitement about the Sunday on Cycle movement, highlighting its cultural significance and the participation of doctors in promoting a fit, obesity-free India. He underscored cycling’s role in daily life, fitness, environmental protection, and combating obesity, linking it to potential carbon credit schemes.

Dr. Mandaviya stressed, “A healthy citizen builds a healthy society, essential for achieving a prosperous nation by 2047 through fitness initiatives. In Delhi, Guinness World Record holder Rohtash Chaudhary inspired around 500 participants at Major Dhyanchand National Stadium, advocating for daily cycling.

Dr. Piyush Jain,Finance Secretary of the Indian Medical Association emphasized fitness in preventing diseases and maintaining a healthy lifestyle, with cycling as an ideal full-body workout. Launched in December 2024, the initiative has reached over 4,500 locations nationwide, displaying a governmental commitment to promote active lifestyles.
