Anna University Launches Initiative to Foster Startup Ideas

Chennai, 16 March (H.S.): Anna University has invited students from Tamil Nadu to submit innovative startup ideas, offering a seed fund and comprehensive support. The initiative aims to encourage entrepreneurial activities among students, promoting the development of new startups.

Students can submit ideas on various themes, including Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Internet of Things, and Agriculture. Selected ideas will receive a seed fund of Rs 2 lakh, mentorship, assistance in incorporating the firm, patenting support, and free company registration.

The Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (CED) of Anna University will receive applications from interested students and faculty members. A selection committee comprising university officials and industry experts will choose the best startup ideas. The initiative is open to final year students from all streams from colleges across Tamil Nadu.

The programme provides a platform for students and early-stage startups to develop and showcase innovative ideas. It offers resources and mentorship for building proof-of-concept models, workshops, and pitching opportunities. The university will also provide legal and administrative support, expert guidance, and access to one-on-one mentorship.

The last date to apply for the initiative is March 31.
