
Peddem,18 March (H.S.): Day 2 of the 47th Indian Masters National Badminton Championship 2025 at Peddem featured stellar performances from former Indian internationals. Nikhil Kanetkar and Upendra Fadnis claimed victory in the Men’s Doubles 45+ category, defeating Govind M.K. and Dhinakar Shanka 15-11, 15-2.
Jaison Xavier and Amrish Shinde similarly dominated their qualification round, overpowering Rajan Chandvaskar and Sandeep D. 15-4, 15-5 in the Men’s Doubles 50+.
Strong showings from local talent added excitement, with Wilfred Jacques winning his Men’s Singles 50+ match against Niranjan Mantri 15-4, 15-7, and N. Cardoz and D. Nilesh advancing in the Men’s Doubles 45+.
In the main draw, Betty Dourado and Supriya Pai Kuchelkar secured victories in Women’s Singles 40+ and 45+, respectively. Arnaldo Rodrigues triumphed in Men’s Singles 45+, while Parag Chauhan won against Rahul Barua.
The Men’s Doubles 35+ pair of Navaneet Nasnodkar and Jatinder Singh and the Mixed Doubles 45+ team of Kamlesh Kanji and Suja Das Nair also claimed hard-fought victories, heightening anticipation for the upcoming rounds.
