
Cachar (Assam), 14 April (HS): Cachar Police carried out four successful operations against drug peddlers and seized drugs worth ₹2 crore. The action was taken under the leadership of the Cachar Superintendent of Police Nomal Mahata.
On Monday, the Superintendent of Police said that 78 grams of heroin were recovered in Sonai. Where two persons were arrested by the police. In another action, 149 grams of heroin were recovered in Kalan and two people were arrested.
At the same time, a person was arrested with 177 grams of heroin in Saidpur. Apart from these, five people were arrested with 12 grams of drugs in Silchar.
The police spokesperson said that these series of actions reflect the zero tolerance policy of Assam Police against drugs. The ‘War Against Drugs’ drive is being carried forward strongly under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.
