Ahmedabad, 24 March (HS):- An accident occurred on the Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet train project near Ahmedabad affecting the train
traffic on the route. The accident occurred on Sunday night between the Geratppur-Vatva
section of Ahmedabad division around 11 pm, when a segmental launching gantry
used for viaduct construction at Vatva was retracting after launching a
concrete girder. It accidentally skidded from the position. There was no
casualty in the accident.
NHRCL authorities said this has affected the adjoining railway line in the area. According to Western Railway, the fall of the gantry
led to a breakdown of overhead equipment that supplied power to the electric
trains. This impacted the movement of trains.

Central – Ahmedabad Gujarat Express; 20959/60 Valsad Intercity Express; 19418
Vatva-Boriwali Express among others. 10901/02 Mumbai Central – Gandhinagar Vande
Bharat and12009/10 Mumbai Central –Ahmedabad Shatabdi Express trains have been
partially cancelled and will be terminated at Vadodara Railway junction. Timings
of five trains have been changed, while six others have been diverted, the
Western Railway authorities said.
