New Delhi, September 13 (HS): Adani Power Limited will invest USD 3 billion (around ₹26,482 crore) to set up a state-of-the-art 2,400 MW ultra-supercritical thermal power plant in Bihar.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the Adani Group company said it has signed a 25-year Power Supply Agreement (PSA) with Bihar State Power Generation Company Limited (BSPGCL). The project will be established in Pirpainti, Bhagalpur district, and will supply electricity to the state.

The company announced that it plans to design, build, finance, own, and operate the new facility, comprising three units of 800 MW each, along with supporting infrastructure. The project aims to be commissioned within 60 months.

Adani Power secured the project by offering a minimum supply tariff of ₹6.075 per kilowatt-hour. This agreement follows the Letter of Award issued in August by BSPGCL on behalf of North Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited and South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited.

Adani Power Limited, part of the Adani Group headquartered in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, is engaged in power generation projects across India.
