Kathmandu, 28 February (HS): After the sudden change in Kathmandu’s weather on Friday, more than half a dozen planes have been diverted to different airports in India due to difficulties in landing of planes at Tribhuvan International Airport. After the weather became unfavorable in Kathmandu, the visibility of Kathmandu airport decreased significantly, due to which international planes faced difficulty in landing.

General Manager of Tribhuvan International Airport Jagannath Niraula said that due to low visibility, the planes of Qatar Airways from Doha, Malaysian Airlines from Kuala Lumpur, Thai Airways from Bangkok, China Southern Air from China have been sent to Kolkata, Delhi and Lucknow airports in India. He said that the visibility at the airport should be at least 2000 meters for the landing of planes, but at this time the visibility is only 1200 meters. According to him, the weather is gradually improving and the visibility is also gradually improving.

Nepal’s Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana was returning from a week-long Geneva tour by Qatar Airways flight, but her plane has been landed in Kolkata. The General Manager said that even after the international flight was affected, the domestic flight has been resumed. Due to domestic flights in Nepal by small aircraft, the work gets hampered due to low visibility.
