New Delhi, Aug 24 (HS): Afghanistan will host Bangladesh in a six-match white-ball series in the UAE this October, right after the conclusion of the Asia Cup 2025. The schedule includes three T20 internationals in Sharjah, followed by three ODIs in Abu Dhabi. The series will run from October 2 to 14 under the banner of the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB).
The contest will begin with the T20 leg, as the two sides face off on October 2 in Sharjah. The second and third T20 internationals are slated for October 3 and 5. The ODI series will follow in Abu Dhabi on October 8, 11, and 14.
ACB CEO Naseeb Khan said the upcoming clash reflects the growing partnership between the two boards and underlines their shared commitment to delivering top-quality cricket, even at neutral venues.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury welcomed the announcement, calling it an exciting opportunity. “We are looking forward to a highly competitive limited-overs series in the UAE. This tour not only offers valuable contests after the Asia Cup but also highlights the respect and strong ties between the two boards,” he said, thanking ACB for its efforts in hosting the matches.
The Asia Cup 2025 itself will be played in the UAE from September 9 to 28, with this bilateral series serving as a continuation of high-profile cricket action in the Gulf region.
