However, HS Prannoy and the mixed doubles team of Sathish Kumar Karunakaran and Aadya Variyath, along with women’s doubles duo Tanisha Crasto and Ashwini Ponnappa, were eliminated in the first round. The Super 1000 event, held in Birmingham on 11 March 2025, showcased strong performances and unexpected exits.
HS Prannoy faces a challenging beginning in the second game, trailing as Popov showcases impressive badminton skills. Ultimately, Popov secures the match 21-19, 21-16, leading to another first round exit for Prannoy and a disappointing start for India in the All England Open 2025.

Malvika Bansod lost the second set to JM Yeo 21-10 after winning the first, but she claimed victory in the third set 21-17, ousted yeo securing the match 21-13, 10-21, 21-17.
In women’s doubles, the Indian duo of Tanisha Crasto and Ashwini Ponnappa exited the All England Championships after losing their second set against Malaysian pair Hsieh Pei-Shan and E Hung.
India’s Sathish Kumar Karunakaran and Aadya Variyath were ousted in the first round of the 2025 All England Super 1000, losing straight games 6-21, 15-21 to China’s Guo Xin Wa and Cheng Fang.
Meanwhile, Indonesian world number two Jonatan Christie started his title defense with a solid 21-11, 21-19 win against Jun Hao Leong from Malaysia. Christie, third seed, continues to build on a strong performance streak after reaching the India Open semi-finals and competing in the Indonesia Masters final. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity, reflecting on his challenging previous year.
