New Delhi, April 14 (H.S.): The grateful nation is remembering Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar today. A ceremony commemorating the 135th birth anniversary of Dr. Ambedkar is being organized at the Inspiration Site on the lawns of Parliament House, under the auspices of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, in collaboration with the Dr. Ambedkar Foundation. The ceremony will begin with floral tributes from President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, other ministers, MPs, scholars, students, and other invited guests from the general public.

After that, the program will remain open to the public until 12:00 PM. The Dr. Ambedkar Foundation will assist those who wish to pay tribute to Baba Saheb. The foundation has arranged special buses to take the general public to the Dr. Ambedkar National Memorial located on Alipur Road.

The Dr. Ambedkar Foundation was established to promote the message and ideology of Baba Saheb. In 1991, a centenary celebration committee for Baba Saheb was formed, which was chaired by the then Prime Minister. This committee decided to establish the foundation. On March 24, 1992, the autonomous body Dr. Ambedkar Foundation was established under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. Its aim was to organize programs and activities to promote Baba Saheb’s thoughts and perspectives at the national level.

The Dr. Ambedkar National Memorial is dedicated to preserving and showcasing the life, work, and contributions of Baba Saheb. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was a renowned social reformer, speaker, prominent writer, historian, jurist, anthropologist, and politician. The museum houses a collection of personal belongings, photographs, letters, and documents related to Dr. Ambedkar’s life. This includes his education, social reform movements, and political career. Audio-visual arrangements are in place to showcase his speeches and interviews.
