Amit Shah Reviews U'khand Avalanche, Assures Safe Evacuation of Trapped Workers

New Delhi, 28 February (HS): Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday spoke to Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Director General of ITBP and NDRF on the avalanche incident in Chamoli. He said that our priority is to evacuate the people trapped in the accident safely.

Union Home Minister Shah posted on X, Talked to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, DG ITBP and DG NDRF regarding the glacier burst in Chamoli, Uttarakhand. Our priority is to evacuate the people trapped in the accident safely. The local administration is engaged in rescue operations with full readiness. Two NDRF teams are also reaching the spot soon. It is noteworthy that 57 workers were buried due to a heavy avalanche during the construction work being carried out by the Border Roads Organization (BRO) near the border village of Mana in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. Out of this, BRO and other agencies have rescued 15 workers so far, while the rest of the workers are being searched for.
