New Delhi, April 26 (H.S.): Anant Ambani, the youngest son of Mukesh Ambani, has been appointed as Executive Director of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), effective May 1, 2025, for five years, pending member approval. RIL’s board made this decision during a meeting on April 25, following input from the Human Resources, Nomination, and Remuneration Committee.
Anant, who currently serves as a non-executive director, will assume executive roles and leadership responsibilities within the company. A graduate of Brown University, he is the first among his siblings to be appointed as Executive Director at Reliance and has been leading the energy segment since August 2022. Anant has also been a member of the boards of Jio Platforms since March 2020, Reliance Retail Ventures Ltd. since May 2022, and Reliance New Energy and Reliance New Solar Energy Ltd. since June 2021.Furthermore, he is involved with Reliance Foundation, the company’s philanthropic division.
In August 2023, Mukesh Ambani appointed all three of his children—twins Isha and Akash and Anant—as non-executive directors on the Reliance Group’s board. Akash chairs Jio Infocomm, while Isha oversees retail and e-commerce. All three siblings are also board members of Jio Platforms and Reliance Retail.
