
New Delhi, May 3 (HS): President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed Angola’s President Joao Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço during his four-day visit to India. Lourenço paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Raj Ghat. This marks his first bilateral state visit to India.
Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said on X that there is a special welcome for the India-Angola Global South partnership. As President Lourenço arrived at the Presidential Palace courtyard, he was given a 21-gun salute and a guard of honor.
