Srinagar, April 03 (KINS): BJP State Secretary Anwar Khan on Friday alleged that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has failed to fulfil the promises made to the people ahead of the elections and is leading what he described as a “luxurious life.”

In an interview with KINS news agency, Khan said that Abdullah had made “tall promises” to the electorate but had not delivered on them after assuming office. He claimed that the Chief Minister had earlier spoken about the restoration of Article 370, but has now shifted focus only to the demand for restoration of statehood.
“After coming to power, he failed to fulfil these promises. Earlier, he talked about Article 370, but now he is only seeking restoration of statehood,” Khan said.

He said PM Narendra Modi has already said that turning J&K state into UT was for a temporary period and will be restored at right time.
The BJP leader further alleged that Abdullah is out of touch with the ground reality and accused him of living an extravagant lifestyle. “He considers himself a prince and is living a luxurious life,” Khan said.
Khan also took a swipe at previous governments in the region, claiming they lacked accountability. He asserted that the presence of a strong opposition like the BJP would ensure that the current government remains answerable to the people.
“Earlier governments were not accountable, but now we have a strong opposition which will hold the elected government responsible,” he added. (KINS)
