Dubai, September 26 (HS): Pakistan sealed their place in the Asia Cup 2025 final after defeating Bangladesh by 11 runs in a tense Super Four encounter at the Dubai International Stadium on Thursday. The victory sets up a high-voltage clash against India in the title decider on September 28.Batting first, Pakistan were in early trouble at 49 for 5, but contributions from the lower order revived their innings. Mohammad Haris top-scored with 31, while Mohammad Nawaz (25), Shaheen Shah Afridi (19 off 13 deliveries), and Faheem Ashraf (14) helped the side reach 135 for 8 in 20 overs.

For Bangladesh, Taskin Ahmed was the standout bowler with 3 wickets, while Rishad Hossain and Mehidy Hasan picked up two each.Defending 136, Pakistan’s pace attack rose to the occasion. Shaheen Shah Afridi struck in his very first over, dismissing opener Parvez Hossain Emon for a duck and later removing Towhid Hridoy, leaving Bangladesh reeling.

Afridi finished with sensational figures of 3 for 17 from 4 overs.Haris Rauf delivered another fiery spell, also claiming 3 wickets, while youngster Saim Ayub bowled with remarkable control, conceding just 16 runs in his four overs and taking two wickets. Bangladesh’s chase eventually faltered as they managed only 124 for 9 in 20 overs, falling just short of the target.

The result means Pakistan will now face India in the Asia Cup final on September 28, in what promises to be a blockbuster clash between the two arch-rivals.
