Assam becomes India’s 3rd fastest growing state: CM

Guwahati, 8 April (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said through social media on Tuesday that Assam has now become the third fastest growing state in the country. The growth rate of Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) at constant prices has been recorded at 7.94%.

The Chief Minister said that our pro-investor policies and continuous investment in infrastructure, institutions and individuals are the main reason for this development. He also added that such progress could not have been imagined till a few years ago.

Sarma described the economic development of the state as ‘door to new possibilities’ and said that the government’s goal now is to attract more investment and increase employment opportunities.
