Guwahati, 13 March (HS): Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya extended his warm greetings and best wishes to the people of Assam on the joyous occasion of Holi.

In a statement here today, Governor Acharya said, “I convey my warm greetings and best wishes to the people of Assam on the occasion of Holi, the festival of colours. May this festival bring peace, harmony, prosperity and happiness to all.”

Acharya also said that the festival of colours represent the diversity of the country and the celebrations of the festival by the people cutting across all caste, creed and community strengthen the inherent unity existing among the people. He said, “Let the festival fortify our harmonious co-existence and motivate us to work for a common cause that is development of the state. I hope the festival becomes a harbinger of joy, happiness and merriment for all”.
