Guwahati, 17 March (HS): The Assam government has introduced an online portal for teacher transfers, allowing inter-district movement under a revised policy. Applications will be accepted from Tuesday until April 30.

Education Minister Dr. Ranoj Pegu, in a press briefing at the Sarv Shiksha office, highlighted that previously, teachers were restricted from inter-district transfers as per their initial appointment terms. However, the new policy offers them an opportunity to apply for relocation based on eligibility.

Key Features of the Transfer Policy:

Eligibility: Teachers with 10+ years of service can apply; differently-abled teachers qualify after 2 years.

Application Process: Existing teachers must log in and reapply; new teachers need to create profiles.

Timeline: The transfer process is set for completion during the summer break to ensure a smooth transition.

Dr. Pegu urged all teachers seeking transfers to utilize the portal within the deadline. This initiative aims to bring flexibility and efficiency to Assam’s education system.————–
