WASHINGTON, 22 October (H.S.): Activists from the Baloch National Movement (BNM) held an awareness campaign in front of the White House on Wednesday, accusing Pakistan of being a terrorist state and conducting a brutal military campaign in Balochistan.
The demonstration, led by Samee Baloch, the president of BNM’s US chapter, aimed to shed light on escalating human rights abuses in the region. Participants distributed pamphlets detailing the dire situation, particularly in the Zehri district.
According to a statement released to the media, Samee Baloch declared that the humanitarian crisis in Balochistan is intensifying as the Pakistani military continues to perpetrate atrocities against the civilian population.
The campaign materials allege that Pakistan systematically exploits Balochistan’s natural resources and leverages the region’s strategic geography for its own international political and economic benefit.
The BNM claims that this exploitation is the primary reason Western nations have remained silent on the alleged crimes committed by Pakistani generals and politicians. This spectacle against humanity must end now, Samee Baloch urged.
The protest also drew support from Ukrainian activists, who expressed solidarity with the Baloch cause and shared their own perspectives on the global fight for freedom and justice. The pamphlets provided specific details of recent military actions intended to suppress local political leadership and crush popular resistance.
On September 17, 2025, a drone strike in Zehri allegedly killed several people, identified as Sanaullah, Amna, Ali Akbar, Lal Bibi, Mohammad Hassan, and Mohammad Yaqoob.
On October 5, 2025, military helicopters reportedly conducted a bombing and firing raid in the Moola Chashma area of Zehri, leading to the deaths of a large number of civilians, including children.
