Balochistan, 13 March (H.S.): The deadly train attack in Pakistan’s Balochistan, carried out by militants who seized the Jaffar Express, resulted in the deaths of twenty-one passengers and four paramilitary soldiers. On Wednesday, the federal minister for information, Attaullah Tarar, declared that the army operation was over and all 33 terrorists responsible for the attack had been eliminated.
The operation, which involved the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps, Special Service Group, and Air Force, was commended for its successful rescue of all passengers and elimination of the terrorists. Lt Gen Sharif stated that the terrorists had initially used hostages as human shields and had a foreign nexus, with their facilitators and masterminds located in Afghanistan. The operation took place in difficult terrain and lasted several hours, with the terrorists remaining in contact with their associates via satellite phones.
The tragic incident serves as a reminder of the ongoing security challenges faced by Pakistan and the need for continued vigilance against militant groups.
