
Dhaka, July 22 (HS): The crash of a Bangladesh Air Force training fighter aircraft into a building of Milestone School and College in Uttara, Dhaka, has resulted in 27 fatalities, including 25 children.
Professor Mohammad Saidur Rahman confirmed the casualties during a press conference, stating that 78 individuals are injured, with five in serious condition.
Among the deceased are 25 children, some under 12 years old, as well as the pilot and a school teacher. So far, 20 bodies have been returned to families. The army has been deployed at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery to manage the crowd.
The F-7 BGI training fighter aircraft, manufactured in China, encountered technical issues shortly after taking off from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 1:06 PM, crashing minutes later, with reports indicating the incident occurred around 1:30 PM. The Air Force is conducting its investigation into the crash.
