New Delhi, May 2 (HS): The Bangladesh men’s cricket team will tour the UAE at the end of this month before their tour of Pakistan, where the team will play two T20 international matches. These matches will be held on May 17 and 19 at Sharjah Cricket Stadium at 7 PM (local time). This will be the second bilateral T20 series between the two countries in three years.
The previous bilateral T20 series between Bangladesh and UAE was held in Dubai in 2022, where Bangladesh won both matches, claiming the series 2-0. This time too, the Bangladesh team looks strong, while the UAE could benefit from home conditions.
Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) Chief Operating Officer Subhan Ahmed stated in an official announcement, We are excited to host the Bangladesh men’s team once again. Over the past three years, we have hosted ICC full member teams like New Zealand, West Indies, and Afghanistan. Now, this second bilateral tour of Bangladesh is special for us.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury said, Playing again in the UAE will be a good experience for us. These matches will be an important part of our team’s preparation for the Asia Cup and the upcoming busy international season.
This series marks the beginning of Bangladesh’s T20 schedule for 2025. After the tour of Pakistan, the team will go to Sri Lanka, where they will play two Tests, three ODIs, and two T20s. In August, Bangladesh will host India, which will include three ODIs and three T20 matches.
On the other hand, the UAE team is currently playing in the World Cup League 2 in the Netherlands, where they sit at the bottom of the points table with only two wins out of eleven matches.
