
New Delhi, April 21 (H.S.): The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced its annual player contracts for the period from October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2025, on Monday. There have been no changes in the top A-Plus (A+) category, while some new names have also been added to the list. Experienced off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has been excluded due to his retirement from international cricket.
The BCCI has once again retained captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, and Ravindra Jadeja in the A-Plus (A+) category. Players in this category will receive an annual remuneration of 7 crore rupees.
Shreyas Iyer, who was left out of the contract list last year due to not playing domestic cricket, has made a return this time in the B (B) category. Meanwhile, Ishan Kishan, who did not play in the Ranji Trophy after taking a break from international cricket, has been placed in the C (C) category.
Spinner Varun Chakravarthy, who performed excellently in the Champions Trophy, has secured a place in the BCCI contract for the first time. However, Ravichandran Ashwin, who recently bid farewell to international cricket, is not included in this list.

How is a Contract Secured?
According to BCCI rules, a player must play at least 3 Tests, 8 One Day Internationals, or 10 T20 Internationals in a year. Based on this, Varun Chakravarthy (18 international matches) along with Harshit Rana, Abhishek Sharma, and Nitish Kumar Reddy have received contracts for the first time.
