Lucknow,
15 April (HS): Akhilesh Yadav, chief of the Samajwadi Party, accused the BJP
administrations in Uttar Pradesh and at the Centre of failing to deliver on
their promises and of repackaging old initiatives with new names to deceive the
public. In a post on X, Yadav took a shot at the BJP by saying that everything
around them is becoming zero before they do. According to the former chief
minister, just as their ‘zero tolerance’ has become zero, the ‘zero poverty’
mantra will become a BJP-style jumla as well. India invented the notion of zero
in mathematics, not to spread lies among people, he stressed. Poverty
is erased by deeds rather than words.
And when it comes to activity, the BJP government is at zero, Yadav
remarked. He said that the government will leave everything in
shunya (zero) condition before departing. He also chastised the BJP
for rebranding rural development projects. They may continue their old history
of deception by rebranding plans like Ambedkar Village and Lohia Village and
presenting them in different formats, but they have nothing fresh to offer, he
said. Yadav asked the BJP to keep its pledges.
Before
making fresh promises, they should put Rs 15 lakh into people’s bank accounts,
visit adopted villages to see their condition, and clear the dust from the
unmet pledges of homes for everybody and water in every household, he added. Stop
lying to the needy, he urged, calling the BJP’s stance
deplorable.
