
Chennai, 5 May (H.S.) : Bisleri International, a leading mineral water company in India, marked World Earth Day 2025 by organizing a massive plastic waste collection drive across 36 cities in 16 states. The company’s flagship initiative, Bottles for Change, brought together communities, students, volunteers, and local champions to promote environmental sustainability.
The initiative saw an impressive collection of over 440 metric tonnes of plastic waste, thanks to the efforts of more than 6,000 interns and volunteers who directly engaged with over 1,14,000 individuals. A total of 234 events were conducted, including 177 cleaning drives, 49 awareness sessions, and 8 creative competitions like poster making.
The campaign also featured tree plantation drives, used plastic collection campaigns, awareness rallies, and expert-led symposiums. Bisleri International collaborated with 13 public and private organizations and institutions to engage citizens in the initiative. The collective efforts of the participants led to the planting of 510 trees, showcasing the impact of citizen-driven sustainability efforts.
