Jammu, Dec 29 (KINS): The Jammu and Kashmir BJP reaffirmed its commitment to the welfare, empowerment, and dignity of Scheduled Tribe (ST) communities during an introductory meeting of the newly nominated members of the ST Morcha, held at the party headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
The meeting was addressed by J&K BJP President and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Sat Sharma, General Secretary (Organization) Ashok Koul, and General Secretaries Sanjita Dogra, Baldev Singh Billawaria, and Gopal Mahajan.
ST Morcha President Choudhary Abdul Ghani, along with Morcha office-bearers, executive members, and district presidents from across Jammu and Kashmir, participated in the meeting.
The programme aimed to formally introduce the new team, outline organizational responsibilities, and set priorities for strengthening the ST Morcha at all levels.
Congratulating the newly nominated members, Sat Sharma emphasized the vital role of Morchas in the BJP’s organizational framework. He said Morchas serve as a strong bridge between the party and society, ensuring that the BJP’s vision reaches every section of the population. Highlighting the importance of the ST Morcha, he said tribal communities hold a special place in the BJP’s inclusive ideology and development agenda.
“Our objective is to work for the nation and society while sincerely raising and addressing the genuine issues faced by the ST community in a constructive manner,” Sat Sharma said, adding that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP has consistently focused on the empowerment, welfare, and dignity of tribal communities.
Addressing the gathering, Ashok Koul stressed the need to complete the formation of ST Morcha units across Jammu and Kashmir at the earliest. He underscored the importance of organizational discipline, structured functioning, and regular outreach programmes. He said Morcha activists must effectively communicate the BJP’s policies and welfare initiatives, particularly those related to socio-economic upliftment, education, health, and self-employment of tribal communities. He also called for close coordination between the Morcha and the main party structure to ensure impactful implementation of activities.
ST Morcha President Choudhary Abdul Ghani thanked the senior leadership for their guidance and expressed confidence that the new team would work tirelessly to strengthen the Morcha. He said the ST Morcha would actively highlight community issues, promote awareness about government welfare schemes, and contribute to nation-building under the leadership of the BJP.(KINS)
