BJP released Panchayat election manifesto

Guwahati, 26 April (HS): ‘We have run the government by challenging the established thinking, ideology and concepts. The established beliefs which were becoming an obstacle in overall development, our government has challenged them every day in the last four years. Once the Chief Minister of Assam was forced to seek help in Delhi, today Assam is playing its strong role in the development of the country.’ These things were said by Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma on Saturday while releasing the manifesto issued by BJP Assam Pradesh for the Panchayat elections.

The Chief Minister said that through a strong Panchayati Raj system, development can be accelerated at the grassroots level. If the government has built two thousand kilometers of road, then additional two thousand kilometers of roads can also be built with the joint efforts of MNREGA and Public Works Department of Panchayats. The process of construction of 3.5 lakh new houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana has started and the Chief Minister Housing Scheme will ensure that every poor family in Assam gets housing.

At the release ceremony of ‘Panchayat Election-2025 Sankalp Patra’ at BJP’s state headquarters Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bhawan today, State President Dilip Saikia said that the general public has the biggest role in building a safe, developed and better Assam. BJP prepares the manifesto by taking suggestions from the public in every election. This time also the Sankalp Patra has been prepared by taking suggestions from all sections. More than 3,500 people had sent their suggestions through email. The state president also informed that a record number of candidates have been elected unopposed in the first phase of the Panchayat elections, for which he thanked the workers and the public.

The state president said that for the BJP, no election is a quarter-final or semi-final, every election is a final. Therefore, the Panchayat elections are equally important. In his address, he also praised the development work done under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Starting the program, BJP General Secretary Diplu Ranjan Sharma said that Minister Ranjit Kumar Das, the convener of the Sankalp Patra compilation committee, highlighted the objective of this document. He said that through this Sankalp Patra, a resolution has been taken for the overall development of the last person of the society by incorporating the goals of Mahatma Gandhi’s ‘Gramodaya’, Acharya Vinoba Bhave’s ‘Sarvodaya’, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay’s ‘Antyodaya’ and Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Narendra Modi’s ‘Rashtraodaya’. A total of 15 major resolutions have been announced in this Sankalp Patra, in which special attention has been given to the development of youth, women, farmers, tea workers and weaker sections of the society.

In today’s program, two songs prepared for the Panchayat elections and a documentary film covering the major development works of the BJP coalition government in the last nine years were also released.

Apart from this, the Chief Minister and the State President specially honored many eminent personalities who became symbols of self-reliance in various fields and were honored with the ‘Assam Gaurav’ award by the Government of Assam.

The honoured personalities include SRDI director Anupam Deka, Sitajakhala Milk Producers Committee president Ranjeev Sharma, tea farmer Tenzing Barosa, textile industrialist Jasin Kumbang Paw, Pawe Greens director Neelam Dutta, fish producer Debjit Barman, agriculture organiser Pushpadhar Kachari, animal husbandry woman Runa Rafiq, model farmer Utpal Kalita, Jayantamallu Bujarbarua, horticulture farmer Debabrata Rabha, fish farming expert Guru Prasad Das and woodflower producer Tulika Gogoi Swargadhari.

Apart from the Chief Minister and the State President, State In-charge Harish Trivedi, Minister and Panchayat Election Management Committee Convenor Pijush Hazarika, Sankalp Patra Compilation Committee Convenor Minister Ranjit Kumar Das, former State President and MP Ranjit Dutta, National Working Committee Member and MP Kamakhya Prasad Tasa, Minister Jayantamalla Barua, Kaushik Rai, MP Bijuli Kalita Medhi and Vice President Tapan Kumar Gogoi were present in the Sankalp Patra release program along with many BJP workers.
