BJP slams Muslim contractor quota; questions Rahul's Vietnam visits

Addressing the press conference, MP Ravi Shankar Prasad.

New Delhi, March 15 (H.S.): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has S manned Congress, accusing them of appeasement, following the Karnataka government’s approval of four percent reservation for Muslim contractors.

Addressing a press conference held at the BJP headquarters on Saturday, MP Ravi Shankar Prasad stated that the reservation for Muslim contractors in Karnataka is driven by Rahul Gandhi’s ideology. Despite several defeats, he has not learned any lessons. This reservation has been granted under Rahul Gandhi’s protection. Siddaramaiah lacks the courage or political strength to make this announcement himself. The standards of appeasement and vote bank politics being established by Congress are detrimental to the nation.

Ravi Shankar Prasad stated that reservations based on religion are unconstitutional. Citing judgments from several courts, he mentioned that reservations based on religion have also been declared unconstitutional by the courts.

Ravi Shankar Prasad questioned Rahul Gandhi about his frequent trips to Vietnam, noting he has spent 22 days there this year, more than in his own constituency. This raises curiosity about his sudden affinity for Vietnam, prompting a request for explanation as the opposition leader.

Meanwhile, BJP leader Amit Malviya criticized the Congress government in Karnataka for prioritizing corruption and appeasement politics, arguing that their policies favoring a specific religious community violate the Constitution. He claimed that Congress resembles the new Muslim League in this regard.
