Brazil committed to supporting India's fight against terrorism

Brasilia (Brazil), June 3(HS):Brazil has affirmed its support for India’s anti-terrorism initiatives targeting threats from Pakistan. An Indian parliamentary delegation, led by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, engaged with Brazilian leaders to discuss the aftermath of India’s Operation Sindoor. Tejasvi Surya, a BJP MP, noted that Brazilian officials clearly condemned cross-border terrorism and expressed their solidarity with India’s efforts. The delegation met with key Brazilian figures, including the President of Brazil’s Parliament and the Acting Foreign Minister, reinforcing Brazil’s commitment to its friendship with India. Surya emphasized Brazil’s significance in Latin America, highlighting the support India received also from Guyana, Panama, and Colombia. The Indian team included other notable members, and Tharoor highlighted a productive meeting with Deputy Foreign Minister Maria Laura da Rocha.

Meanwhile, in Liberia, BJP leader S.S. Ahluwalia criticized Pakistan as a persistent adversary fueling terrorism, echoing sentiments that Terrorism transcends national boundaries and is a global threat. Similar views were shared by BJD MP Sasmit Patra, who stressed that the fight against terrorism is a universal struggle. In Cairo, Congress MP Manish Tewari called for sanctions against nations employing terrorism as a policy tool, identifying Pakistan as a major perpetrator. The delegation also garnered support in Spain, where DMK MP Kanimozhi and colleagues met with the Spanish Foreign Minister, receiving assurances of backing in their anti-terrorism efforts. Following engagements in multiple European countries, the delegation, led by Kanimozhi, plans to return to India, with members heading to Chennai and Delhi.
