Hooghly, 28 February (H.S.)
The Central Pollution Control Board has sought a report from West Bengal Pollution Control Board on pollution caused by burning of garbage on a large scale behind Rishra police station near Rishra station in Hooghly district.
In fact, troubled by the smoke emanating from burning garbage in Rishra, an aware citizen of Rishra, Ramdev Prasad Yadav, had lodged a complaint in the Central Pollution Control Board. After that, the Central Pollution Control Board has sent a letter to Parivesh Bhawan and sought an Action Taken Report in this regard. Ramdev Prasad Yadav told Hindusthan Samachar on Friday that on Thursday he received a copy of a letter from the Central Pollution Control Board in which the Central Pollution Control Board has sought a report on the action taken by the State Pollution Control Board in the matter. However, it will be interesting to see what action the West Bengal Pollution Control Board takes on the illegal burning of garbage on a large scale in Rishra.
