City of Shri Ram connected to land of Shri Krishna,Hisar Airport gives wings to people's hopes

During the foundation stone laying ceremony for Terminal 2 of Hisar Airport, Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted the people along with Haryana's Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and others.

New Delhi, April 14 (H.S.): The Maharaja Agrasen Airport in Hisar was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday, marking a connection between Shri Krishna’s land and Sri Ram’s city through its first commercial flight to Ayodhya. Modi’s address resonated with the people of Haryana, emphasizing that air travel is now accessible to all, symbolized by even those in flip-flops taking to the skies.

The airport has reignited hope among villagers who have long awaited this development, bringing dreams to life. Many traveled from far to witness this milestone, particularly women from local villages like Talvandi, Raipur, Mirzapur, and Dansu, who see the airport as a gateway to better job opportunities. Residents like Pooja expressed optimism about potential local employment now that companies may recruit at the airport, reducing the need to travel far for jobs. Others, such as Nandani from Mirzapur, highlighted the ease of air travel that will result in saving time and money.

The airport is set to span 7,200 acres and be constructed in phases as an alternative to Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, facilitated by an MoU between the Haryana government and the Airports Authority of India. It promises to boost economic activities, create over 100,000 jobs, and develop industries including hotels, transport, and IT. The region’s residents, along with those from adjacent states like Rajasthan and Punjab, are expected to benefit significantly from this new infrastructure.
